| 1. Why should we choose
My Gift Registry? |
My
Gift Registry aims to ease the stress of getting
everything you need to start married life
together; allowing you to concentrate on
enjoying the process leading up to your wedding
day. My Gift Registry will take care of the
delivery, wrapping and presentation of all your
gifts. If you would like your gifts delivered to
your wedding venue, then we will ensure that
they are expertly wrapped and presented in
colours that match the colour and decorative
elements of the day. Deliveries can also be
arranged for dates after the wedding or
honeymoon. Your gifts will be delivered with a
comprehensive list of each gift and the person
who gave it to you, making the writing of “thank
you” notes much easier.
Apart from the great convenience that we offer
you, we also make buying gifts enjoyable for
your guests. Saving them hours spent wondering
around shopping centres trying to decide on the
perfect gift for you while stilling concerns
about duplicated items - guests can shop from
the convenience of their own home or office and
create a personal message for the gift of their
choice – from anywhere in the world! Their
selection will be wrapped and presented to you
at your delivery point. It really is as simple
as that.
My Gift Registry offers you a great way to
inform your guests of the things you really need
and desire for your new home… You will no longer
have to worry about getting a gift that you
either don’t need, don’t want or that clashes
with your home decor. Many wedding gifts are
given with the hope that they will remind you of
the giver for a lifetime - My Gift Registry
allows you to remember the people who bought you
the items you will use in the future. All that
is required of you is to select the items which
you know you will cherish.
My Gift Registry guarentees that no items will
be duplicated incorrectly to ensure that every
item received does in fact originate from the
personal selection of a friend.

| 2. How do we create
a registry with My Gift Registry? |
|
Once on the website simply select “Create a
Registry” in the menu on the left. Fill in your
details on the registration form and click on
“Submit information”. On the next screen you can
select either “Choose gifts now,” “Edit our
details” or “Log out.” Click on “Choose gifts
now” to begin selecting items for your registry.
Click on “Edit our details” to change or add
something to your registration form. Should you
wish to simply return at a later stage to choose
gifts and update your details click “log out.”

| 3. How do we see the
products that My Gift Registry offers before we
create a registry? |
When
on the homepage select “View products” in the
menu on the left. This will open up a submenu of
the various categories of items we offer. Click
on the Category you would like to view. Once you
have seen all the items in that category you can
click “View other categories” at the bottom of
the page to view another category.
Alternatively, once in the categories page, you
can use the left-hand menu to navigate between
categories.

| 4. Does My Gift
Registry offer gift vouchers? |
Yes. Guests can choose to purchase a gift
voucher for you instead of an item from your
registry. You will receive all gift vouchers
with your gifts. Vouchers are redeemable against anything on the My Gift Registry
website, or other available products from any of the brands represented.

| 5. We can’t think of
all the items that we will need in our new
house. Do you have some advice for us? |
For
advice on choosing items for your registry, have
a look at the articles on our website. Click on
“Wedding guide” in the left-hand menu. Select
“Wedding Info” in the submenu and you will be
taken to a page of articles that should assist.

is a great guide to everyday items and formal
requirements for a home. If you are still not

| 6. Once we have
registered, how do we add items to our registry? |
Once
you have completed your registration form and
have clicked on “Submit information” you will be
taken to a page that will have the “Choose gifts
now” at the bottom of the page. Select this and
you will be taken to a page listing the
categories of items that we offer. Select a
category to begin choosing items. Select which
items you would like to add to your registry as
well as the quantity of each item required. Once
you have selected all the items you would like
to add in that category click “Update registry”
at the bottom of the page. You will be taken
back to the page listing the categories where
you can then click on another category and
continue to add items.

| 7. Can we come back
at a later stage and add more gifts to our
registry? |
Yes.
If you have registered previously and are now
returning to add items to your registry, then
select “Login” in the menu on the homepage (www.mygiftregistry.co.za).
On the next page simply fill in your username
and password. Once you have done this click
“Proceed.” This will take you to your own
registry page. Click on the option “Add or
remove items from our gift registry” to view the
categories of items we offer. Select a category
to begin choosing items. Once that category is
open, tick the items you would like to add to
your registry and fill in the quantity of each
item required. Once you have selected all the
items you would like to add in that category
click “Update registry” at the bottom of the
page. You will be taken back to the page listing
the categories where you can then click on
another category and continue to add items.

| 8. Can we come back
at a later stage and remove gifts from our gift
registry? |
Yes.
Log in to the website using the link in the menu
on the left. Enter your username and password on
the following page and click proceed. Select the
option “Add or remove items from our gift
registry” and you will be taken to a page that
lists all the categories of items we offer.
Click on the category you would like to remove
items from. Once that category is open select
the item and number of items you would like to
remove. Click “Update registry” at the bottom of
the page. You will be taken back to the page
listing the categories where you can then click
on another category and continue to add or
remove items.

| 9. Can we come back
at a later stage and change or edit our details? |
Yes.
After logging in, click on the option “Edit or
Update our details” and you will be taken back
to your registration form. Once you have updated
everything you can click on “Submit information”
at the bottom of the page and your information
will be updated.

| 10. Is it rude to
add expensive items to our gift registry? Should
we stick to cheaper items? |
Definitely not! Should you wish to have these
items in your home then you should feel free to
add them. Your guests will spend the amount they
are comfortable with. Always be sure to add some
less expensive items for guests who have a
smaller budget but also bear in mind that a few
guests can contribute to the same item, sharing
the cost. You might also want to encourage your
guests to buy more necessarry and fewer luxury
items. Do this by ensuring that you add all the
necessities and a few luxury items and mark very
important items as priorities.

| 11. How many items
should we add to our registry? |
This
can be a difficult question to answer. By adding
lots of items you give your guests more choice,
which will ensure that they don’t feel forced
into buying the only item that fits into their
budget. Make sure you add all the necessities
and then add a few “nice to haves.”
Be careful not to add items just for the sake of
having something on your registry, select items
carefully and make sure you consider the
benefits of each and every item you decide to
add. If you already live in a furnished house,
you may find you have many items we consider the
basics, if this is the case this may be a great
opportunity to extend or replace your current
appliances etc. with the options available on
our site. Our decorative items are superb as
well and we feel certain you will find many a
thing you do not yet have in your home.

| 12. Should we only
add necessities or should we add a mixture of
necessities and luxury items? |
Why
not add some luxury items? Some guests would
much rather buy luxury items instead of
necessities. Should you not list any luxury
items then these guests won’t have anything
exciting to select. When choosing items for your
registry you have an option to indicate that the
item is a “priority.” This way your guests will
know which items you really need and they can
make sure that these items are bought for you
before your wedding day.

| 13. How will we know
who each gift comes from? |
Each
gift will have a card attached with a personal
message from the giver as well as their name(s).
When you receive all of your gifts you will also
receive a list of each purchaser and the item(s)
they gave to you.

| 14. When will our
gifts be delivered to us? |
You
can choose when you would like your gifts
delivered. You may opt to have them delivered on
your wedding day or even after your wedding once
you return from honeymoon. We will gladly
deliver on any day and to any place within
Gauteng, South Africa*.
*Plans are in place to expand further into RSA,
please contact us if you are based outside

| 15. Will people be
able to purchase gifts from our registry for our
engagement party and the kitchen tea? |
In
your registration form we ask for the contact
details of the Maid of Honour. We do this so
that we can find out the date of the kitchen
tea/bridal shower/pamper party and make your
gift registry available to the guests who will
be attending. When your guests go onto the My
Gift Registry website to purchase gifts for you
they are given the option of purchasing the gift
for the wedding or for the kitchen tea/ bridal
shower. We will then liase with the Maid of
Honour to have your gifts delivered to the
correct event.
If you would like to have your registry
available for your engagement party then please
don’t hesitate to contact us and we will gladly
arrange this for you.

| 16. How do we
purchase a gift for friends or family who have
also registered with My Gift Registry? |
First log on to your registry in the usual way.
Select “View other couples’ gift registries.”
Enter the name or surname of either member of
the couple and click “search.” Click on the
picture or the names of the couple you are
looking for. You will be taken to their registry
where you can begin purchasing gifts (for more
information on the process of purchasing gifts
see “Frequently asked questions and answers for
gift purchasers”.)

| 17. Will we be able
to purchase gifts from our own registry? |
You
will only be able to purchase gifts from your
own registry after your wedding date. After the
date of your wedding you will be able to login
to your registry and purchase remaining items –
don’t forget to use your gift vouchers should
you have received any!

| 18. How do we
purchase gifts off our own registry after our
wedding? |
Go
to the My Gift Registry homepage (www.mygiftregistry.co.za)
and log in as usual. Once you are logged in
click on “Purchase items remaining on our
registry.” Then click on the category you would
like to purchase items from. Once you have
entered the category you will now be able to
purchase gifts off your own registry. Place a
tick in the “Tick to purchase” box of any item
you would like to purchase. If you would also
like to purchase items in other categories then
click on “View other categories” at the bottom
of the screen. Once you have chosen all the
items you would like to purchase, scroll down to
the bottom of the screen and click “Purchase
items.” This will take you to a page that will
list the name, the quantity you have requested,
the delivery charge, as well as the total price
of each item. Select “Confirm Order.” You will
then be given a choice of payment methods.
Select either “Credit Card/Debit card,” “EFT,”
“Direct Deposit” or “Gift Voucher” (see question
20 below for purchasing with Gift Vouchers.) If
you chose to pay by credit card or debit card
then you will be taken to a secure page where
you need to fill in your credit card details.
Once you have completed these, click on
“Complete Payment.” If you chose either an EFT
or Direct Deposit payment, you will be taken to
a page that will provide you with the amount you
owe as well as the My Gift Registry banking
details. Click on “Continue.” You will then be
taken to another page where you can click on
“Print Invoice” to print your invoice.

| 19. Will our
registry still be available for viewing and
purchasing after our wedding? |
Yes.
Your registry will remain on the My Gift
Registry website for a period of two months
after the date of your wedding. During this time
anyone may purchase an item off your registry
and we will deliver it to you in bulk at the end
of the period.

| 20. Will our guests
be able to give us money instead of gifts? |
Your guests will be able to purchase
gift vouchers for you via My Gift Registry. This will allow you to choose any
available item from the many brands represented on our site... Please note that
vouchers expire two months from the date of your wedding.

| 21. How do we go
about spending our gift vouchers? |
After your wedding date you may login to My Gift
Registry and purchase any items remaining on
your registry (see question 18 above.) When you
reach the page where you are asked to choose
your payment method, select “Gift Voucher.” You
will then be asked for your voucher number.
Enter your voucher number and click “submit.” If
the voucher was not enough to cover the purchase
price, you will be asked to select another
payment method to cover the remaining value. You
can either pay with another voucher by following
the above procedure or you can select another
payment method. Please note that vouchers expire two months from the date of your
wedding.

| 22. What happens if
we do not spend the full voucher amount? |
If you use your voucher to purchase
something and you only end up using a portion of the value, the remaining value
will be stored on that voucher number on our system. Therefore, the next time
you return to purchase something you may use that voucher again and you will be
able to spend the remaining amount on that voucher. Please note that vouchers
expire two months from the date of your wedding.

exchange vouchers for cash? |
You will not be able to exchange
vouchers for cash any longer. Please note that vouchers expire two months from

| 24. How will our
guests know that we have a registry with My Gift
Registry? |
In
your registration form you are given the option
to receive inserts for your wedding invitations.
These inserts will be from My Gift Registry and
will politely inform your guests that you have a
wedding registry at My Gift Registry and invite
them to come shopping. The inserts will contain
all the necessary information that your guests
require to access your registry. We will ensure
that these inserts do not clash with your
invitations.
Should you choose not to have inserts printed,
you can inform the bridesmaids and groomsmen as
well as your respective parents that you have
registered with My Gift Registry. They can then
pass on this information to anyone and everyone
they know who is attending the wedding.

| 25. Is there a way
that we can ensure that we don’t get duplicate
gifts from people who don’t purchase gifts off
My Gift Registry? |
If
you have registered with My Gift registry we can
guarantee you that you will receive no
duplicated gifts purchased from us. We cannot
however ensure that gifts will not be duplicated
if your guests purchase items from elsewhere.
This is why we recommend that you have inserts
printed for your invitations to ensure that all
of your guests are aware that you have a
registry with My Gift Registry.

| 2. Someone I know is
getting married and has registered with My Gift
Registry. How do I find their registry? |
Go
to the Home page (www.mygiftregistry.co.za) and
click on “Find a registry” in the menu on the
left hand side. Then type in the name or surname
of either member of the couple. Click search.
This will take you to a list of couples with
that name. Click on the name of the couple you
want and you will be taken to their gift
registry. Alternatively, use the quick search
box on the Home page.

registry I am looking for but how do I see the
items the couple has chosen? |
Once you are in the
couple’s registry, click on one of the
categories to see a list of the items the couple
has chosen in that category.

| 4. I have found the
gift I would like to purchase, how do I add it
to my cart? |
Look
to the right of the picture of the item for a
box that says “Tick to purchase.” Check this
box. Repeat this for all the items you would
like to purchase. Once you’re done on a page
make sure you click the “Add to Cart” button
before moving on. If you would also like to
purchase items in other categories then select
“View other categories” at the bottom of the
screen.

the items in my cart? |
Once
you have chosen all the items you would like to
purchase, scroll down to the bottom of the
screen and click on “Purchase items.” This will

well as the message that you would like to go
onto the card that will be attached to the gift.
Then click “Submit message.”

| 6. I have found an
item that is not on the couple’s registry. Can I
purchase this item for them? |
Unfortunately not. Only gifts that the couple
has chosen can be purchased for them. The reason
for this is that items that are not on a
couple’s registry are either items that they
already have or items that they have chosen not
to receive. They may either be items that they
consider to be luxuries or unneccesarry. You
should get in touch with their personal My Gift
Registry consultant if you still have a question
on this issue.

| 7. I am not
comfortable with submitting my credit card
details over the internet. Is there another way
that I can pay for my gifts? |
You
can also do an internet transfer or a direct
deposit into the My Gift Registry account. If
you are still unsure, please don’t hesitate to
give us a call and we will be glad to help you
(see our contact details below.)

| 8. I would prefer to
give the couple cash to choose their own gift or
to use it toward something that is not on their
registry. How can I do this? |
You
can do this by purchasing a gift voucher. This
way the couple can use the money to buy
something from My Gift Registry that they did
not receive or something they did not originally
have on their registry. Alternatively, they can
convert the voucher to cash and use the money to
spend wherever they wish. (A small handling fee
may apply.) Once you have gone into the couple’s
registry, click on the category “Gift Voucher.”
You will be taken to a page where must type in
the amount you would like to give them. Then
click to confirm. You must be logged in to
process a gift voucher.

| 9. There is an item
on the couple’s registry that is quite
expensive. Is there any way I can contribute
toward it without having to pay the full price? |
Yes.
You can contribute toward any item on the
couple’s gift registry. Once you are in a
category within the couple’s gift registry and
you find an item you would like to contribute
toward, click in the box “Tick to contribute
toward this item” to the right of the item. Then
scroll to the bottom of the screen and click
“Purchase items.” Then simply follow the same
procedure as purchasing a gift. The couple will
receive cards from everyone who contributed
toward the gift. However, please be careful not
to mention the item you contributed toward in
your message just in case the couple does not
receive this item (See next question.)

| 10. What if there
are not enough people who contribute toward an
item that I have contributed toward? |
If the full price of the item is not
paid, then the couple will receive a gift voucher from you to the value that you
contributed toward the item as well as an indication of the item that was
contributed toward. The gift voucher will contain the same message that you
wrote for the item, so be careful not to write a message that mentions the item
you contributed toward, just in case they end up not getting this item. The
couple can either use this gift voucher to buy something else off their
registry.

| 11. I have bought a
gift for the couple but how do I know that no
one else will buy them the same gift? |
Once
someone has purchased an item, it is removed
from the couple’s registry so it is not possible
for anyone else to purchase the same item from
My Gift Registry unless the couple requested
more than one of that item. However, if someone
purchases a gift from somewhere other than My
Gift Registry then we cannot guarantee that they
will not purchase the same gift as you. So
please encourage all your friends and family to
purchase from My Gift Registry. Items do remain
visible and are marked as having ZERO quantity
available.

| 12. Can I purchase a
gift from the couple’s registry for the kitchen
tea/pamper party? |
Yes.
To the right of the item there is an option to
either purchase the gift for the wedding or for
the kitchen tea. Select the “Kitchen tea” option
before clicking “Purchase Items.” Then simply
proceed with your purchase and your gift will be
wrapped and delivered to the kitchen tea. Gifts
purchased too late for delivery to the kitchen
tea will be replaced with a note at the event
and delivered with the wedding delivery.

wedding? |
