Bride's Emergency Kit

On your special day you want everything to be just perfect. Unfortunately, life's little mishaps don't always stay away just because it's your wedding day! So we've put together a comprehensive inventory of items that every bride might need to ensure that nothing gets the better of you on your special day.

Keep these "kits" close at hand on the big day; give them either to your maid of honour or your mom. Stored in cars, under a table near-by or even carried by a friend - it will be wise to have the items below readily available. Hopefully they won't be needed, but why take the chance?

Kit # 1: The Emergency Handbag:
  • Panado or Nurofen (nerves and stress combined are a killer combination and you don't want to be stuck with a headache)

  • Comb or hair brush
  • Hair clips or bobby pins
  • Nail file
  • Lipstick and lip gloss (for touch-ups before photo's etc.)

  • Spare makeup (for touch-ups after teary moments)

  • Perfume and deodorant
  • Hand mirror
  • Tissues (Lots of tissues, from tears to spills tissues are ALWAYS needed for something)

  • Safety pins (true lifesavers for fixing hems or loose dresses)

  • Spare pair of stockings (especially if you are having a garter removed you might want to put on a fresh pair of stockings with no runs before your legs become the center of attention)

  • Throw away garter (some brides like to use a substitute ‘disposable' garter and keep their real garter as a keepsake)

  • Breath Mints (you don't want to be stuck feeling self-conscious about your breath)

  • Straws (it is very handy to be able to drink without messing up your lipstick)

  • Cell phone (Switched off but available in case of emergencies)

  • Cash (you never know when it may come in handy)

  • Camera (have a camera with you to take some candid fun shots of special moments that may be missed by the photographer)
